Fetch Phillips

Fetch Phillips was born and lives on a continent called Archetellos. He grew up in a city called Weatherly. but now resides in Sunder City. There used to be magic in the world, but an event called the Coda dried it all up and left thousands, millions perhaps, of magical beings to perish almost immediately. Those remaining were stripped of their magical powers, left to endure a life without the magic that created them, and many suffering much slower deaths.

Before the Coda, Fetch had been a soldier, first with an army of magical beings called the Opus, and then with the human army. Fetch is human, after all. But Eliah Hendricks, High Chancellor of the Opus, and an elf, had taken an interest in Fetch and mentored the young man.

After the Coda, Fetch blamed himself for all that had happened. He returned to Sunder City, becoming a Man for Hire. He wanted to help the people whose lives he felt he had ruined, however he could. Helping little old ladies find their lost dogs, chasing down thieves, any case that would put some cash in his pockets.

He couldn't sit around and do nothing, and there wasn't a lot of other work going around. Industry powered by magic was gone in an instant when the Coda happened, and Sunder City was slow to build itself back up without the fires that had once burned underground. He still loved the city, it was still his home. The magic wasn't going to come back, but someone had to help the people of Sunder City, it might as well be him. He owed them that much.

But now, after six years... maybe, just maybe, there are signs of the magic returning, after all.
